SILENT TREATMENT
Photo Book | 2023
Silent Treatment investigates ideas around identity, connection, coming of age, and reflection. I am interested in how the relationships and the people closest to you shape the person you become, how these people, memories, and experiences become inseparable from your own sense of self. This work constructs a self-portrait by exploring my significant relationships and experiences as a young adult. Examining influence and affinity, autonomy and isolation. I see myself, my struggles and my character reflected back at me in my friends. It is nature, nurture and everything in between.
Special thanks to Duncan Barns and Edith Cowen University for encouraging my love affair with photography, my film lab Silver Halide Studios for all the gorgeous colour scans and to my lovely family and friends for letting me take their photo constantly.
